Restore Me….not so much

Firstly, I haven’t posted in a while because I just had my last (ever) week of college and now I’m studying for exams. I’m stressed af but wanted to write this review because I love this series so here we are. (And also procrastination).

So this is the fourth book in the series and honestly, my least favourite. I wanted more from this book! I felt like the Juliette of this book was too close to her character in Shatter Me. Her charcater felt a bit flat here and while I could understand it I just wanted her to retain more of the growth she went through in Ignite Me. I really wanted more of her the way she was near the end of this book. When reading this book I kept waiting for something to happen. It lagged a bit. I love that Warner was given half the book and loved having his perspective but it didn’t really add to the action. There were a few new characters introduced but I felt like we didn’t really get to know them. I love Nazeera but we didn’t get nearly enough of her. I liked the little glimpse into Kenji’s past and the interactions between Warner and Adam.

I wanted to get to know the other Supreme Commanders kids better but we really don’t see much of them. Warner is refusing to talk about any of his past with them which is so frustrating I actually had to put down the book a few times during his chapters. I love Warner but he needs to get it together.

This is a really (really) small spoiler so if you haven’t read it yet you might want to skip this part. Juliette’s hair. I loved that. That had to honestly be my favourite moment and wish it happened earlier. I can absolutely picture this on her. I feel like for the first time she really made a choice about herself and her appearance. She wanted this for a while and finally realised that she didn’t need anyone’s approval to change her hair and pick out her own clothes. I want her to really remember this moment and how badass she felt. She really needs to remember now with the ending the way it is.

The ending felt a bit abrupt but very dramatic and I really want to read the next one now! I need more badass Juliette so hopefully we’ll get that in the next one!
